Thyme Extra Virgin Olive Oil 250 ml
In Aegean and Mediterranean cooking, thyme is more than a seasoning. It creates a link between meat, vegetables, pulses and cheese. Dardanos Fine Foods Thyme Extra Virgin Olive Oil combines the green, lightly bitter and clear character of fresh thyme with early-harvest olive oil. Instead of the hardness sometimes produced by dried thyme, it gives food a more integrated and controlled herb finish.
Fresh Thyme Pressed with the Olives
Selected olives and fresh thyme are processed and pressed together on the same day. Thyme is not used as a dried herb left to steep in finished olive oil. During co-pressing, its taste is distributed evenly throughout the oil. The fruit and natural bitterness of the olive support the herb rather than competing with it. This method allows even a small quantity added at the serving stage to give food a clear direction.
Lamb, Beef and Chicken
Use it after cooking lamb chops, ribeye steak or chicken. A few drops added once the meat has been seared and rested allow the thyme to open on the warm surface. When used in a marinade, calculate it together with the quantities of salt, garlic and lemon. Excessively long marinating may allow thyme to dominate the meat. On grilled fish, a smaller amount is usually sufficient.
Vegetables, Pulses and Breakfast
Add it at the serving stage to roasted potatoes, tomatoes, courgettes, mushrooms, peppers and cauliflower. A small amount after cooking gives beans, lentils and chickpeas a clearer finish. At breakfast it pairs with feta-style cheese, olives, tomatoes and warm bread. It can also be combined with yoghurt, salt and lemon to create a simple sauce for grilled food, provided that the acidity and oil remain balanced.
Choosing the Right Mediterranean Herb
For dishes based on tomatoes, mozzarella, pizza and pasta rather than meat or pulses, Basil Extra Virgin Olive Oil may be the more suitable choice. Storage
Keep the oil in a cupboard protected from light, strong heat and moisture. Leaving the cap open may gradually weaken the fresh thyme character, so close it firmly after use. Do not store the product beside the hob, oven or radiator. Natural cloudiness or solidification may appear at low temperatures and will disappear at room temperature. Adding dried or fresh thyme to the product is not recommended.
