Black Truffle Extra Virgin Olive Oil 250 ml
Black truffle is a powerful ingredient. Used with care, it brings depth and length to a dish; used excessively, it can hide every other detail on the plate. Dardanos Fine Foods Black Truffle Extra Virgin Olive Oil should therefore be treated as a precise finishing ingredient. The earthy, mushroom-like and persistent character of real black truffle is supported by early-harvest olive oil. A few drops are usually enough to produce a noticeable result.
Co-Pressed with Real Black Truffle
Selected olives and fresh black truffle are processed and pressed on the same day. The truffle is not a synthetic flavouring added to finished oil, nor is it merely a decorative piece left inside the container. During co-pressing, it goes through the production process with the olives and becomes integrated with the oil. This creates a more balanced result than a sharp perfume-like taste sitting on the surface of food.
Managing Heat and Quantity
Black truffle olive oil should not be cooked for a long time over high heat. Add it after the dish is complete and has reached serving temperature. Begin with only a few drops per portion, taste, and increase the amount only when necessary. Recipes already containing salt, mature cheese, mushrooms or rich sauces require less oil. Careful dosing keeps the truffle controlled and prevents the finish from becoming heavy or repetitive.
Risotto, Pasta and Eggs
Add it once mushroom risotto has left the heat, while tagliatelle is being plated or after mashed potatoes have been placed in the serving dish. Omelettes, fried eggs and softly scrambled eggs provide simple foundations that allow the truffle to remain clear. Use it on pizza after baking and on grilled beef or creamy soups shortly before serving. On delicate dishes such as sushi or sashimi, use only a very small amount.

Storage
Store the oil in a cool, dry and dark cupboard away from direct sunlight. Close the cap promptly after use to help retain the truffle character. Do not leave it beside the hob, above the oven or in an area exposed to repeated temperature changes. Natural cloudiness or solidification may occur in cold conditions and will disappear at room temperature. Do not add mushrooms, water or any other ingredients to the product.
